Sandor and Lili
My brother and sister in-law have two beautiful new family members, Vizslas Sandor and Lili that Steven and Adrienne graciously let me photograph.
For these photographs, I chose Savage Seamless Blue Mist and Chestnut. As you can tell from my previous post, I’ve kind of been on a monochrome kick for my pet images. I just really like the cohesion of the overall image, and I think it is so fun to identify a pet with a color. I pretty much kept the same lighting set up as with Charlie’s Marmalade photos.
I don’t have a process shot here, but it’s pretty similar to the setup with Charlie. I do have kind of a set up shot in the gallery below.
In post-processing these, I did a few things differently than with Charlie. In his photos, I didn’t do much more than the typical dodge/burn/sharpen. With these, I wanted to have a William Wegman style to them. https://williamwegman.com/— you know, the Weimaraner photographer who is like, super-famous. Vizslas are similar to Weimaraners in structure and appearance, so I guess I had his style on my mind when I was in post. I used a little of Smal8, which lifts the shadows slightly, then I took that down a bit. I also added vibrance, especially on the Blue Mist.
I'd never met a Vizsla before, but these two are just going to be obviously wonderful family dogs. They are so friendly, so loving. I know that they will be the perfect companions to Molly, Ruby and Ross as they grow up.
