Marissa Guidry

When Marissa told me she wanted a session with her five rescue dogs as a Mother’s Day gift for herself, I knew this would be the best session ever. Marissa is a volunteer with Acadiana Animal Aid, and her five pups are all rescues from her adoption journey. She is a truly exceptional person, balancing her rescue life with being a working mom and soccer mom to her two boys—she’s just amazing, y’all. Her family came to help wrangle everyone for pictures, and they did such a great job!

Lots of people think, “my dog couldn’t do that,” “we have too many dogs for pictures,” “they won’t listen.” But patience, positivity, and a little photoshop magic can make what seems impossible very, very possible.

Lastly, can I just say, I love the colors in this session. Marissa’s choice of a fabulous ruffled bubblegum-pink dress, coupled with her pups matching collars and vests really complemented Moncus park’s scenery. To me, this session, with its feminine colors and centered on the relationship between Marissa and her pups is just such a fun reminder that moms have an impact and should be celebrated for all their endeavors and love that they share.
